The Old Town community reflects inspirational Arabic culture and early 20th century housing seen in the Bastakia form in some of the more traditional areas of Dubai, representing a mixture of low-rise three-storey apartment buildings and mid-rise towers with penthouses. The architecture creates an interesting juxtaposition to the ultra modern buildings of the Burj Dubai area where terraces, parapets, pergolas, recesses and niches, establish a sophistication and nostalgia of times past.
